Runescape classic closing5/21/2023 But I want to be able to talk to the same people as I would if I were to log into RuneScape 3, or Old School RuneScape. That will be set up regardless of my involvement with private server or not. Private server is something we talk about setting up, and it's also something that is planned to be set up. I point it out so you can be aware of it, and have the opportunity to help yourself. I pointed out the source to the toxic attitude- and I am the one who's being attacked. When I visited consentus clan-chat, people were being toxic against me- including Ardo. I have also walked around on a regular RuneScape 3, it has been relatively empty there as well. About the amount of peoples, I mostly prefer solitude. Secondly I would like to see who is online on the other versions of RuneScape. Maybe there is one, but I believe the major Classic clan doesn't know of one. Firstly, I haven't heard a single popular private server which has been true to the xp rates. I will fight until the end, whatever the outcome There are a few reasons for that. If I am not mistaken, I have heard WoW has released its Classic version, is that true? If so, do we really want RuneScape to sink below the level of WoW? My initial attitude was that Classic couldn't be saved, but I prefer the path of resistance over the path of acceptance. That's a cost which is greater than any sort of gain they would get from closing the servers. The loss of reputation for disregarding veterans will also be increasingly damaged. Not only that, Classic has much preservation value that would go lost if that is to be closed. The community surely has more than funded the cost of these servers. The cost of keeping five servers or less opened (maybe just 1?) isn't very high. I play Classic because I love that game and not because I don't know how RS3 works. While there is confusion about the decision, their plans are perfectly clear. The banks can come out with a new coin to trade with and not everyone knows how it works. The wish for having Classic opened is not based on ignorance or confusion. There is difference compared to the first example. RuneScape skiller, self-hate is the source of your toxic attitude, or you would not have Mudds Thank you for your comment, you have fair points. Retired skiller, retired leader & founder of Skillers Creed Please, please please, I beg you all! Do something! Post on the official Classic Forums! Show your support, show that you care for the preservation of history! Show JaGEx they should be really proud of their fantastic legacy! I am fine with that! I can live with that! I would rather have it break than having it closed! It is bot infested, and it is bug infested. I don't even care if anyone believes I bot that game because most people who play that game can't even imagine people actually play it legit. I don't care that the game is breaking by bugs. There are players, both legits and botters who really love the game, and don't want to see it gone! People are recording their session because they are afraid of the preservation of RuneScape Classic. I have seen it suggested to give bot developers the code to Classic. I have seen suggestions of single player version of Classic. I am in love with RuneScape Classic and that's the game I want to play. I would rather see RuneScape Classic break totally than to see the game I love die off completely. I need your help to change their mind! To keep at least a few servers opened, just for us! There is a legit community of maybe 15-30 actively playing who need your help! JaGEx made the announcement one of a half month ago that they will close down RuneScape Classic. I am a retired skiller, retired clan leader and active RuneScape Classic player. Both RuneScape, the modern version of the game, and Old School RuneScape, an evolving snapshot of the 2007 online game, are set to remain up and running for the foreseeable future. My name is Viktor and I am a RuneScape veteran. While this spells the end for RuneScape Classic, Jagex still maintains two other versions of the game that each immortalize different eras of the long-running MMORPG. The rise of botting has given way to an increase in overall bugs, leading Jagex to its decision to shut down the game rather than wait for an inevitable, game-breaking bug to knock the game offline for good without any warning. As a result, botting has become a significant problem since the team lacks the tools to effectively detect and prevent bot accounts. The developer says that many of its tools are no longer compatible with the classic variant of RuneScape, which itself was released in 2001. While it’s common to see developers end support for their older games as costs become an issue, Jagex notes in a blog post that the decision to shut down RuneScape Classic was driven instead by the lack of compatible community safety tools and growing list of catastrophic bugs.
